Why Do They Fight?

I have two children. One boy who will be 15 in a week or two, and another boy who just turned 7. I thought that because they are eight years apart in age, they would have nothing to fight about. Boy was I wrong. It was good at first, I had two only children. Not anymore, They fight so bad I cant stand having them in the same room together. What the hell do they have to fight about? Apparently EVERYTHING!! They are worse than a bunch of girls.

Make it stop!!!!!!

Typing Sucks!

I was told a month or two ago that a job would be coming open where I work and I was encouraged to apply. I found out that one of the job requirements was to be able to type 45wpm. I tested myself and found that I was able to type about 12wpm. I immediately decided that I could not do it. I decided to not apply but everyone kept telling me I could do it. Finally the job came open and I immediately panicked. Myself and 100 other applicants applied. I got an interview. They decided that out of 100 people I was the most qualified and wanted to hire me. So, it has been a month since I started practicing and to no ones surprise I improved…a lot. I went in for the typing test and failed miserably. I typed as high as 28wpm. That is a great improvement over 12wpm where I was. So needless to say they have to settle for someone less qualified. If typing is not important in this job, why is it a requirement? The system sucks! It is OK because I will be able to get a different job and not be there to do the work for the new ‘typest’.

Question for the world: Do I continue to improve my typing skills by maybe taking a class, or do I settle for jobs that do not have typing requirements?

I recently tried to twitter. You can make friends, tell people about your day, and find out about other peoples day. You can do this all from your cell phone. The concept sounds fun to me. I dont have to be on the internet, yet I can ‘play along’. This is great, just what I needed to ‘get involved’… It didn’t work for me. I found myself very frustrated and out of the loop in no time.

I ask myself, Is there something wrong with me? Why cant I make friends and enjoy the internet networking like other people?

Then BLAM! It hits me.

I don’t care about that stuff. It sounds like fun, but I have a real life to deal with. A family, husband, kids, job, house, friends, ect.

I have things to do, so… good bye twitter.

A Funny Day At Work

My work is usually very…uneventful. This week the principal and assistant principal were both out one day. First thing that morning one of the teachers went to get a pack of crackers out of the vending machine. The vending machine is in the faculty lounge and not a very busy place until lunch time. She put her change in, the crackers fell, she put her hand in to get the crackers out and snap! The doors safety lock malfunctioned and shut on her arm. The more you pull and wiggle the tighter it gets. Nobody in sight, her hand starts to swell and turn colors. Luckily another teacher walks by and she yells for them. They can’t do anything, so the custodians are called. They come running with crow bars and have to pry it open. She gets her arm out and we have the machine removed from the building.

Lunch time comes and everyone is in the faculty room laughing and joking about what had happened that morning, when the guidance counselor comes in. A student had handed him a pack of ramen noodles and a microwave dish and asked him to heat it for her. Not knowing, he put the unopened pack in the dish and turned it on. The sparks start flying. The metal season packet is in the pack of noodles sparking away. If you know anything about ramen noodles you know that you open them put water in heat then add season packet, there you have it…soup. Needless to say, that got them all going again. His new nick name is sparky.

Later that afternoon, there was a principals meeting at our school where all the high school principals from the county come and meet. Joking around one of the teachers (about 50) starts pole dancing with the wire pole in the middle of one of the rooms. At that time the principals walk by and see…how embarrassing.

I must say that that had been the most exciting, comical day of work since I have been there.

I have been finding myself with lots to tell, So how better to say whats on my mind than start a blog. So here I am. I tried it before but it only lasted for a minuet. I think I will do better now.
I am easily distracted…
